YOUR BUSINESS
The more your fellow members know about you and your business, the more they
can help you realize your personal and business goals. This exercise is the
first step in sharing.
A. BACKGROUND
- Present an overview of your personal background.
Tell us where you were raised, your schooling, your family, where you
live, your hobbies, and your work experience.
- Offer an historical overview of your business.
When and how did your company start and what have been some
significant events to date?
B. PRESENTATION OF BUSINESS
- Products/Services
What are the products/services your company provides – especially to
CEOs, presidents and business owners? Present catalogues and/or literature,
if available, to distribute.

- What type of ownership do you have in your company?
- What is the structure of your organization?
- Do you have a Board of Directors or Advisors?
- How many employees do you have working for you and what are their
responsibilities?
- What are some of your marketing/sales strategies?
- Summarize your sales results. What is your current trend and what has
been the trend over the past few years?
- Does anyone else help market/sell your products/services? What type of
person and how many serve in that capacity? What is the compensation model
for them?
- What are your advertising policies and practices?
- How is your product made, inventoried, and distributed?
- How do you structure your service and to whom do you provide it?
- Give a general description of your company’s facilities.
- How do you set goals and monitor your performance?
- Financial indicators – review your current balance sheet, last year’s,
and any key indicators that will help members understand your company.
- Other – present any other background information that would help to
create an understanding of what you do and how you do it.
C. OPPORTUNITIES/ISSUES
Describe the major opportunities and/or issues you are dealing with or
expect to be facing in the coming year. This is a key item for TEC groups –
so give it some thought.
D. PERSONAL
- Describe your key personal and business goals.
- How would you describe you strengths and weaknesses as a service
provider – especially to CEOs?
- What would you like to receive from your participation in TEC?
